Hi! My name is Beth and I am the owner and jack-of-all-trades here at Pooch Pawlor. If something needs to be done here, it's my responsibility and pleasure to make sure it's not only done, but done right.

While I aspired to be many things growing up, by age 3 I was already working on heeling patterns in the backyard with our family Collie. It was obvious that I'd be doing something with animals, particularly dogs.

In continuing our family tradition, I am a third-generation dog sport exhibitor and groomer, and had saved enough money to purchase my own show dog by age 12. That was Ana, a beautiful Labrador Retriever. My plan was to show her in Obedience and Conformation, but Ana's calling was Agility. She was amazing, and we had so much fun. I didn't lose my passion for Obedience and Conformation, but I did have to take other people's dogs into the ring for those events.

Ana passed away in 2014. It took me a year and a half to be ready to look for my next dog. When I was ready, I brought home Peanut, my first Afghan Hound. In 2020, I bred Peanut and kept this little puppy pictured to the left, Lily. I still show both Peanut and Lily in various events around the country.

I learned so much about different breeds, the breed requirements, grooming for show prep, and dog handling through showing dogs for other people. My love for canines has never ceased to grow. 

Over the years I had many jobs, but by 2010 I was carving a niche for myself in the world of grooming. I started as a bather and receptionist in local shops. Since then, I have fine-tuned the products and services I want to bring to my community. I've never been one to settle for being just like everyone else, so I strive every day to improve and grow in my grooming skills, product knowledge, and breed familiarity. Each year, I continue my education in this field and broaden my scope to be able to bring the best grooming products and services to the greater Dayton community.

I am very excited about Pooch Pawlor and all I am able to offer through this business. I'm looking forward to continuing its growth, and I'm honored to invite you to join me in this journey.
